Hosting the World Cup in New York presented an opportunity for The Metropolitan Museum of Art to engage communities across the city.
We designed a trilingual program serving English, Spanish, and French speaking audiences, created a custom jersey in partnership with the Mayor's Office official NY jersey provider: Mazzi Sports, and partnered with a community to curate the sound of the night.
We connected back to The Met's collection: Arts of Africa, Arts of the Ancient Americas, and Arts of Oceania. Batalá took the Museum steps with chants and drumming. We had art-making activities, music, and a special selection of food and drinks.
